Global Education Initiatives (GEI) operates short and long-term programs of an educational nature abroad that combine service, academic and practical experience to deepen participants’ knowledge of, and appreciation for, other national cultures. Programs, which are thematically based, take place in specific countries in cooperation with local universities, and are centered around the four themes within GEI:
Development Human Rights and Social Justice Interfaith Relations Arts and Culture
By combining academic and practical experience, participants will be able to gain new perspectives about global issues which they are passionate about. The GEI model focuses on a more hands-on education known as integrated curriculum, in order manifest a greater understanding and experience that participants can take back home with them to enrich their everyday lives as well as the lives of those around them. GEI is unique in that it offers participants an opportunity to not only increase their knowledge on a field through a well-credited institute for higher education, but also allow them to engage in and accumulate real-life experiences within this same field.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
"Connecting with and listening to students and professionals from around the world provided me with important new ideas and perspectives on the Muslim World, which today help shape my views"
-Cody Kniper, Third Annual Conference on the Muslim World Participant
"It is not only that we learned, it is that we enoyed learning. So it is a great business and a pleasure for us!"
-Vice-Mayor Matet Debuque, Participant of the Federalism an Good Governance Seminar January 2017
Conferences bring together professional, undergraduate students, graduate students and academics from diverse backgrounds to engage in perspective-changing dialogue. GEI conferences are centered on the mission of embracing diversity, encouraging innovative thinking and developing sustainable solutions.
Internships provide service opportunities for students, by placing them with Non-Governmental Organizations and Schools near host universities. Over the span of 6 weeks, interns will give five days a week of direct service to an organization. Through this model, participants are able to make people-to-people connections that create long-lasting relationships and new perspectives.
Seminars allow participants to travel to a different country and learn about that nation’s art, interfaith relations, human rights and social justice and development situations. In partnership with local universities, participants will split their tours between seminars conducted by faculty members at the host university and field observations in the subject of interest for a time span of two weeks.
Sustainability is at the heart of every division and program here at Creative Learning Inc. When developing and continuing our programs, we consistently make improvements to ensure that a GEI program is a program that has a lasting impact. We believe that through our people-to-people exchanges, our partners and participants can be a catalyst for change.
