Dear Friends,

We are happy to update you with the latest accomplishments of your donation to the K.I.S.S. Fund. With your donation, Creative Learning obtained nearly 11,000 books valued at over $350,000 from Harcourt Trade Publishers Literacy Team with the help of Pittsburg-based charity, Brother’s Brother Foundation (BBF).  BBF coordinates the donation of surplus books from publishers who provide educational materials to communities with limited resources. The books were color coded and packaged in Alexandria, Va. and will be shipped from Norfolk, Va. to Mombasa, Kenya in late May en route to Rumbek, Sudan and then to Kauda, Kurmuk and Abyei.

Children in these areas will soon be learning from high-quality textbooks on subjects including history, science, math, and art.

We want to thank you again for your donation and thank the volunteers from Creative Associates International’s Health, Education and Reconciliation (HEAR) project in Sudan who are crucial to getting these books where they are needed. Special thanks are also due to Creative’s Washington staff, Lee Marshall and Harley Black who so generously offered their time and effort to prepare these packages.  More pictures of this effort are posted on our website, please visit www.creativelearning.org.

On behalf of the Kids in Southern Sudan and our volunteers we thank you for your support and we look forward to collaborating with you in the future!

Sincerely,

William J. Kruvant
President
